are fibre optic trees naff?

we have one i got reduced white.
permanently stuck on white lights as the twirly thing has broken

We had one, first year it was pretty and twinkly, the second year it was just twinkly, the third year it was a tree with weirdy plastic bits sticking out, and normal lights on

yes, IMO

It probably looks better than our tree though, it is the most poorly decorated thing I've ever seen

And is too wide for the space so is sort of wedged in by the sofa, in the corner

And the DC have got to it and I can't be arsed to re-do it

You know, I absolutely believe that whilst you can have gorgeously chic decorations at Christmas, there is no such thing as a naff christmas decoration of any kind Why else would we have the saying "Camp as Christmas" if it wasn't supposed to be excessive, brash and ballsy??

I don't think they are naff. Most people don't have enough room for a huge real one. and if you do have a real one it has to be huge, for prescence.
plus, they are so cool these dys, sparkling candles balls, etc etc. fab,

My dad wanted to get one for years but my mum prefers a real tree (as do I I suppose). Last Christmas was my DS's first, and finally provided him with the perfect excuse. The tree DS was given by his grampa is not only fibre-optic-tastic, it also has LEDs. Which flash.
DS is entranced, learned to say the word "tree" within moments of me unpacking it this year, and I don't care if it's naff or not because he absolutely loves it.

I think they look lovely - but are expensive so haven't got one.
