Does anyone know if the roads are likely to be ok? We will be going on the A1 then over the forth bridge and A90 all the way up to Aberdeen.
I'm thinking it will be alright-but there are doubts; surely these main routes will be kept clear.
I would really appreciate people's knowledge and opinions please.

As far as I know, main roads are fine.
Some roads closed round Aberdeen, but they're minor roads

Safe journey

I think you'll be OK till Dundee, but beyond that looks a bit iffy at the moment. You can see live pics on here

We're heading in the other direction - will wave at you around Edinburgh

No idea what the roads will be like. The thing is if the snow starts it can pile up really quickly. The situation changes all the time.

Make sure you take blankets, torch, food and water with you in the car just in case.

Good luck

You can check on roads by reading teletext. They give news on major routes. Do as Jacaqueen says re. keeping warm. A good idea to take a flask of something hot to drink and food, as recommended by breakdown engineers, if you get caught in a tailback.

Thanks for all the advice, and don't worry even if it's July we travel with blankets picnic and flask!
