Is it weird to get dbil a saddle for his bike?

dsis says that her dh has bought a bike so they can go out as a family. Trouble is, her dh has complained about the saddle, so she suggested that we get him a more comfortable one for xmas. My dh thinks it's an odd idea and 'a bit rude to give someone something for their bottom'.

Is dh just being difficult? I'm now really struggling to think of something for dbil and thought this was a nice present - if it's not rude, then what should I be looking for in a comfy saddle!

Ahhh how festive bollock support.

Actually I think it's a great gift but I can see what your DH means

Pop him some anusol in the package too for comic effect.

Perfect gift IF you get a good saddle. NOT a good gift if you just go and buy another uncomfy saddle. Ideally get BiL to try before you buy. not all bums are same shape after all.

I think your DH is being strange, I don't think it's a weird gift. But what UniS says - one persons comfy saddle is another's agony. Don't make the mistake of getting the biggest one you can find, DH got the world's biggest saddle from his dad one Christmas as he'd asked for a "comfy new saddle". It sat in a drawer and every time we came across it we doubled over in laughter at how large it was!

If your BIL is not a keen cyclist I would get something in between the two extremes of saddle you get, don't get something that looks like a thin skinny painful thing, but don't get an enormous one either. And if you can get it from a shop or chain of shops he can get to to exchange it all the better. Maybe something this sort of size?
