How early can get I get the fresh turkey??

dh got one yesterday for use by 26th

So if I get one today I can just keep it in the fridge. Fab! Do you think that's the same for other meat like a joint of beef and pork? (Can you tell this is the first time I've got the meat for Christmas )

Yes, I've been to waitrose today and beef and chicken was for use by 25th.
