woah! That is FAR too long, imo!

Is it just BIL by himself or with entourage?

We are staying with FIL this Christmas. We will be there from 22 to 29th December. That seems more than long enough to me but then we are travelling all the way to France so any shorter wouldn't be worth it.

If I were visiting family here, I would probably stay Christmas Eve to Boxing Day morning, tbh.

guests and fish both start to stink after 3 days - isn't that the saying.

Mind you no matter how well I get on with someone I want to kill them after about a day. Ok being honest a couple of hours.

This is why I don't have people to stay

Way too long! I'd think your 24th to 27th would be a fairly "normal" stay - 2 whole days together, and travel the days outside that. Unless he's a very easy houseguest, I wouldn't want my whole Christmas holiday taken up with a visitor.

no,
will have to get dh to bite the bullit, put his foot down, and just tell him.
aargh.

GL Slarty

Did he say why he was staying so long? Is he a student with loads of time off over Christmas or something?

SlartyBartFast · 22/12/2009 08:36

annoyed that although dh was cross about the length of the visit, he will not say anything , even though bil will be on a blow up bed in ds's box room.!

he must have been saving all his holiday as he isnt a student.
grin and bear it.

My parents came for a week last year. We all acknowledged that it was too long, by the time it was over . This year they are coming for four nights, which is about our limit, but will be a nice, long stay for them to catch up with the kids.
