Dds are 5 and 8.
Oldest would like Famous Five, Secret seven type books, or Chalet Schhol, malaory Towers.
Also Narnia, or Sries of Unfortuntae Events.

Younger would like Naughty Little Sister, Naughtiest Girl, or ghaslty rainbow fairies, Unicorn, Tiara Club kind.

HTH.

My DD is 6 and is recommending Milly Molly Mandy Storybook which is quite retro. You can see it on Amazon - sorry can't link.

Maybe a classic like Heidi for the 9yo?.

I'm reading A Series Of Unfortunate Events at the mo and would really recommend for the 9yo.

We live the Heidi dream. My dd loves, adores and wants to be adopted by Jaqueline Wilson. I on the other hand am very at her books. All of them, without exception has some 'issue' central to the story. Another author she likes a lot is Jeremy Strong. He writes books that would span both age ranges.
