I left it too late to get the Go Go hamsters. What do 5 year olds like? I just don't feel inspired, but want to get her something lovely. Want to avoid High School Musical etc. Please help me!

Toys or clothes?

tiredandgrumpy · 18/12/2009 22:37

Well, gave her a beautiful party dress for her birthday, so probably toys this time.

I just got my 7yo niece this projector desk from ELC but I had originally intended it for my 4yo niece. They both asked for it!

Does she like roleplay stuff? A pretend school kit?

Nice craft stuff

Dressing up -

MP3/CD player to play stories/music

Playmobile stuff - I kind of wish my dd was into it as it seems to last them for years, but we haven't got the space now ...

Has she got a much loved dollie.
My DD (also 5) wants some clothes for her Baby Annabel or you can shoes for the doll.
She has also asked for one of the key tweens sets (or is it key twins).
Crafty stuff alway goes down well, though maybe not so well with her mother!!
New dressing up outfit - check which ones she has got though.
New doll / highchair / pushchair for doll.
Barbie - horrible but they do like them.
Playmobil / Lego / Geomag are also popular at home.

What sort of things does your niece like?

busymummy3 · 18/12/2009 22:47

My DD is 6yrs and loves anything to do with ponies, dolls (baby not fashion), Disney (tinker bell minnie mouse ) nintendo ds games wii games

Thank you! The projector desk looks great - she loves school & sitting quietly 'working'. Have another niece same age, who I think would probably love Geomag too, so some great ideas. Thank you again!
