Xmas story with dcs?
A mulled wine with dh / dp / the cat, in front of a picture of roaring log fire?
Frantic present wrapping while getting the sticky tape stuck to itself and realising you have run out of paper / labels and tags / any actual presents?

Frantically wrapping all the presents I finally remembered where they were hidden.. Trying to remember it's still my birthday as DH runs around like a loon trying to keep the peace with all 900 relatives who want a Christmas eve visit.

MrsMattie · 17/12/2009 20:46

I'll have made impressive head way with a bottle of tawny port, I reckon.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 17/12/2009 20:48

probably eating my dinner and frantically wrapping presents before heading off to play for midnight mass

Enjoying a virgin-Moscow Mule with dh and my pal.
Hopefully, everything will have been done.

MollieO · 17/12/2009 21:04

Probably wishing I'd made more effort to clear the ironing backlog!

purpleturtle · 17/12/2009 21:05

Watching Love Actually.
Christmas Eve ritual.

Sparkletastic · 17/12/2009 21:06

Sipping a drink on the terrace by the pool at a villa in Lanzarote thanks to my lovely mum buying us all a Christmas holiday in the sun

AMumInScotland · 17/12/2009 21:06

Parked in front of a film with a glass of something, having decided if it isn't done yet, we can live without...

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 17/12/2009 21:07

Enjoying cheese crackers and port whilst stuffing stockings and putting gifts under the tree with my sister and DH - am sure boys will be a bit late to bed but hopefully they should be asleep from here

Probably finishing the wrapping, packing the Dc's bags as they are away christmas day afternoon til 27th, Drinking a glass of two of port( if I remember to buy some between now and then)
then if all done, knowing me come on here for some company, before playing Santa and getting a relatively early night as DC are bound to be up way before it is decent to.

TheFallenMadonna · 17/12/2009 21:09

Wrapping presents while getting gently sozzled.

TrinityReindeer · 17/12/2009 21:13

definitely not watching love actually as at the best of times it makes me cry

probably wrapping loads of stocking fillers and sobbing over the little endy chunk of carrot, the empty mince pie tray and the dribble of beer in the bottle of the glass.

jeep · 17/12/2009 21:14

i will be moaning to dp about mil and trying to get to the pub

MistletoeMonster · 17/12/2009 21:17

Waiting for the dds to conk out go to sleep so that we can bring all the presents down from the loft.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 17/12/2009 21:17

Spending the evening with all our neighbours eating chilli , jakcket spuds and mulled wine.
Hoping it's dry so we can wrap up and mill about outside whilst dc's do the reindeer food etc and whip themselves into a frenzy.
Then head inside to wrap all the dc's pressies when they go to bed.

As DC2 is due xmas day, it could well be one of many things. Usually, we leave all the presents to wrap till xmas eve but we've had to do that earlier this year.

whyme2 · 17/12/2009 21:23

We will be carrying tired children home from the panto and then buffet at in laws with all their cousins.
Am looking forward to it as I don't have to cook xmas eve, xmas day or boxing day thanks to invites from in laws.

Overtiredmum · 17/12/2009 21:23

Tracking Santa on the internet, before tucking DS and DD in bed and snuggling down with DH with a bottle of wine and curry - hopefully!

LittleMontyontheDustyRoad · 17/12/2009 21:23

Sparkle

I hope to be sitting having a nice congratulatory drink to myself.

In reality I'll probably be doing last minute chores!

VinegarTinselTits · 17/12/2009 21:23

sitting alone, (while ds2 is in bed and ds1 is in pub) drinking tawny port ( mrsmattie) and crying over some soppy xmas film about people falling in love

IvanaDK · 17/12/2009 21:34

Celebrating Danish Christmas Eve, ie dancing round the Christmas tree singing carols after having had dinner very late, so that the kids are REALLY wound up before they are allowed to open the presents from my family in Denmark. Then send the kids to bed crying because it's too late to play with their presents.

That's how we always did in Denmark when I was a kid, why change it now.

And then I will ring my family in Denmark to say Merry Christmas and thank you for the presents - and then I will be having either a very large pint of Carlsberg or a mug of very fortified mulled wine.

Nemofish · 17/12/2009 22:11

Where are those damn presents?
I know I definitely need to find some of dh's, not sure if I've 'misplaced' any of dd's.

Occasionally when we tidy up an area of the house, we find old Xmas presents

Will send dh to look in the obvious places of bosing day if no joy before then.

Hey maybe that's why boxing day is boxing day - you look in all those cardboard boxes hidden in cupboards!

Maybe I will treat myself to a bit of booze Xmas Eve. We will probably watch a horror movie when dd is in bed.
