No, I don't mean planning whether to have goose or rutney, or even ordering same from M&S.

I mean actually being in Sainsbury's and pondering "oooh I'd better buy some extra oranges for Christmas" or gettin ghome and thinking "oh dear I am almost out of eggs, need some for Chr Day dessert" wtf is going on???? It's a week away!

It's not just me either, Sainsbos was totally empty of cream last night!

Well I should have thought about it sooner if I'm honest, now I cant get what I want and I'm slightly starting to worry a little bit although really I'm trying to bear in mind that we will not starve and neither will the world end if we do not have turkey on the day!

Have been in a supermarket 3 times this week and the sausagemeat shelf has been empty every time!! Will be gutted if I dont get any for my sausagemeat and stuffing christmas meatloaf!!

Turkey sorted - is still pecking away nicely. A friend of the family rears Turkeys and apparently ours is for the chop on Wednesday afternoon/evening!!
I bought some cream yesterday and had the one of the last 2 pots on the shelf.

Forgot the oven chips for boxing day!dammit!! Will have to go back again then in the next few days!

Oh my good lord. Haven't even started writing my Christmas shopping list yet. Was planning to amble into the butchers on Tuesday and ask about rutney beef and gammon. And as my mum will be staying DH and I thought we would be clever and go to Sainsbo's at the crack of dawn on Wednesday, leaving her in charge of the feral children. Won't there be any food at all by then?

SofaQueen · 18/12/2009 23:42

Christmas shopping finished 1 month ago as I needed to book the delivery slot then. Yes, I am organized, but we are going away right after Christmas, and I had to plan way ahead of time.

really tho what is it with the cream?

I'm not pouring cream sold on Thursday over my Christmas day desert thanks. It won't be nice, suely?

Must check Sainbos tomorrow for rutney supplies. Tho I think I am collecting ours from a (wo)man in a van in the market place of a nearby town on Tues evening... (no really)

Please stop with the rutney. For some reason it's making me cry with laughter and it's late and I don't want to wake dd

lowrib · 19/12/2009 01:59

Well I'm eating stollen right now, does that count?

Stollen, mmmmmmmmm

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 19/12/2009 07:14

Lol at there being 'no food' left
Will be slightly upset if i can't get my Rutney though

Northernlebkuchen · 22/12/2009 23:53

Dh and I are scanning mumsnet food threads to ensure we have everything on our list. Now panic stricken that the farm shop won't have any organic rutney left
