I am so envious of all of you seeing Justin in Cinderella - he is a big hero in this house! Have just been looking at the website and you have got Chris and Pui coming there in Feb too!

HarrogateMum · 16/12/2009 13:21

Golgi - I only just managed to get my 3 through the Gruffalo which was 55 minutes long so god knows what they will be like on Saturday....aaaggghhh

heading4home · 16/12/2009 13:24

Going to see Stefan Dennis (from Neighbours) in Cinderella in Wolverhampton.

Unfortunately the Krankies are in it too. They were in Wolverhampton panto last year as well. WHY??? They are about 8000 years old.

I love all the posters only posting to give their culture vulture credentials. Not sufficient to say 'not going' but have to be going to the ballet.

I am not going on monday as I have supper at the Ivy, not going on Tuesday as seeing the snow queen ballet, not going on wed as attending a vueve cliquot reception at Le Manoir......

Oh alright.
I am going to the local Cinderella with Gethin Jones ( no clue who he is ). I get seats right at the front and shout really loud. It is DS2's very favoriye thing and he even copes with them jumping off the stage or spraying water. Brilliant! And DS1 is bringing his girlfriend who has never been before. Kill or cure .

I love a big hammy cheesy panto [sigh]

Guad · 16/12/2009 13:33

We saw the opening night of Robin Hood in Norwich last night.

It was okay, but then I am not a panto fan. Dcs had fun. I like getting fruit pastilled in a box, that was the best bit for me.

We are seeing Cindermouse at the puppet theatre on the 23rd too.

ParkBench · 16/12/2009 13:34

Peter Pan in Shrewsbury - Can't wait!!!

Guad · 16/12/2009 13:35

I joined in with all the shouting in the end as my mother kept elbowing me when when I didn't.

pagwatch · 16/12/2009 13:36

"I like getting fruit pastilled"

Guad I am nickingthat as a pissed euphemism

Guad · 16/12/2009 13:40

LOL, yes, I meant pastilles obv.

Maybe getting pastilled would have helped me enjoy it more. I did squeeze in a couple of gins in the interval but there was no lemon.

BulletProofMum · 16/12/2009 15:34

Went to see Dick Whittington in Camberley. I had never been to a panto before so enjoyed it - particularly my 4yo enjoymnet. My 2yo was a little scared of the evil rat.

SantaClausIsComingToGlasvegas · 16/12/2009 15:52

I'm not going to one this year, but have just remembered that when the Krankies were in Glasgow a few years ago, and the woman had to be admitted to hospital after a nasty head injury during the panto. They have a board in A&E there on which the name of the patient is written on with a brief description of the illness/injury. Allegedly on this occasion it read - Wee Jimmy Krankie. Fell Off Beanstalk.

CMOTdibbler · 16/12/2009 15:55

Ds is going to see Jack and the Beanstalk at Malvern. Nursery are having a trip, and I do not envy them 20 3 and 4 year olds at all..

PurpleLostPrincess · 16/12/2009 17:07

pagwatch, are you in Guildford? My mum did that one at the weekend - she took DS and his girlfriend and they said it was BRILLIANT which is saying something coming from two teenagers lol!! Enjoy

Butterfly99 · 16/12/2009 17:25

We went to see Puss in Boots in Newbury, no big names but it was brilliant really funny!
Also saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in Oxford, which was excellent, only complaint there is the seats are so uncomfortable there is nowhere to put your legs!
Also going to see james and the giant peach at the Watermill in Newbury too.

shockers · 17/12/2009 00:43

DS2 is in Peter Pan with Barney and Gemma from CBBC... he's 9 and I'm very proud

JeMeSouviens · 17/12/2009 03:07

We saw Aladdin.

We live in a tiny town in the far northern reaches of BC, Canada, pop. 6000 and this years play was a Panto! It had a Widow Twanky and everything.

It turns out the director of the drama group is English and each year they alternate between a serious play and a Panto.
