CristinaTheAstonishing · 14/12/2009 21:51

We're seeing Peter Pants in January. Christmas Eve it's Treasure Island (not a panto).

SuperBunny · 14/12/2009 22:10

Snow White with Su Pollard (Hi-di_Hi) & Chris Jarvis (no idea who he is) this weekend for my birthday. Will be DS first panto.

MollieO · 14/12/2009 22:42

SuperBunny I am utterly appalled that you don't know who Chris Jarvis is? How could you not know he is the luscious man from Cbeebies (of Chris and Piu fame). Now in the rubbish Show Me Show Me programme but used to be the highlight of my early evenings.

MollieO · 14/12/2009 22:44

butterscotch I've never seen Eastenders .

SuperBunny · 14/12/2009 22:47

Show me sounds familiar, maybe I have seen him. Am sure DS will recognise him. Saw him advertising it on telly and he looks lovely.

pippinlippin · 14/12/2009 22:48

Already been to see Robin Hood. First panto with DS's and they loved it. Couldn't get over the amount of adults there without kids though. . . Why??? Especially ones behind us tutting when DS's jumped up and down (in excitmenet) slightly interupting their view!!

MrsMattie · 15/12/2009 09:02

fishie - we're going on the 22nd

TheGoatofChristmasPast · 15/12/2009 09:04

god i hate panto. esp. with celebs

StAnne · 15/12/2009 09:57

MrsMattie I'm not to keen on real had enough real as a kid. We never went to panto as a kid. We just had coal pippinlippin There are 11 of us going and only two are children! but Ds's godfather is just like a little kid, people often get annoyed with him bouncing up and down

PurpleLostPrincess · 15/12/2009 10:42

We were meant to be going to our local one this morning but we're all unwell .

My mum is a sign language interpreter and does around 25 panto's every year so if you see a lady signing on the side of the stage and you live in the south, please do give her an extra clap!! She's an amazing lady and she does each and every part of the whole show bless her! Have loved meeting loads of slebs over the years when I've gone back stage with her

Enjoy!!!

OoopsWeDidItAgain · 15/12/2009 10:55

DorothyRedBoots - we are going to see the panto in York too....very very excited. We used to go every year as a kid. Will be DD's first time (3.5) so hope she isn't overwhelmed by it all. Will be doing my very best to catch a WagonWheel!!!!!

golgi · 15/12/2009 11:00

Already seen it - Aladdin at our local theatre, nobody famous in it.
I hate panto.
Had to go with school. It was very very noisy, went on for hours and hours.

MarioandLuigi · 15/12/2009 11:14

DS and I are off to see Jack and the Beanstalk on Sunday at the Theatre Royal. It has Nigel Havers in it so I am a little bit exctied as he was my childhood Man-crush (in his dangerfield days )

undertheduvet · 15/12/2009 11:27

Me, DH and DS aged 4 are of to Liverpool on the 20th to watch peter pan, with the fonz!!! Am very excited

kreecherlivesupstairs · 15/12/2009 11:40

We've seen Aladin already. I took dd and her friend. I thought it went on for about 12 hours but it turned out only to be 2.

deaddei · 15/12/2009 11:43

Going to see Into the Hoodz at the Festival Hall this year- ds can't wait, dd refuses to go so she'll be home alone and dh very concerned hewon't know any of the music!
He won't because for him music stopped when Gary Numan retired

SiggyMac · 15/12/2009 11:51

We are also off to see Cinderella starring cbeebies Justin at Horsham on the 22nd. Our family all love panto - we have more adults than children in our party this year!

MrsSnoops · 15/12/2009 12:35

I am going to my first panto as an adult and taking DS to Aladdin at the Hackney Empire, He is 3.4, hope he's not too young, have no idea what to expect!

lovechoc · 15/12/2009 12:49

what age is best to take children to panto? DB wants to take DS to a local panto but he's 2.8 is that too young?? would he sit through it?

WilfSell · 15/12/2009 12:52

No. We're going to a play. Carol Ann Duffy's Grimm Tales at the Library Theatre, Manchester.

I don't do Panto.

Swedington · 15/12/2009 13:00

Apparently I used to weep as a child and beg not to have to attend the annual family panto ordeal. And one of my sisters told me recently that she was v jealous that I never had to go but she did! So do think carefully before booking tickets.

JulesJules · 15/12/2009 13:08

Cinderella at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle Upon Tyne on Sunday. Can't wait, the DDs loved it last year.

Not sure how the troop of dancing penguins will fit into the story but sure it will be great

wearthefoxhat · 15/12/2009 14:07

And another one here for the York panto with Berwick Kaler

My Grandparents once got the golden wagonwheel and a bottle of Newcy Brown!

Berwick Kaler is a legend.

thehairybabysmum · 15/12/2009 14:28

Snow White at York Opera House...ds1 (4) went yesterday with nursery and apparently loved it. Going with friends and their dc so should be good. Hopefully anyway...never been to a panto before!

flybynight · 15/12/2009 14:38

Jack and the Beanstalk at the Alhambra in Bradford. I just love panto! Which is just as well because it costs an arm and a bloody leg.
