Hi - the title says it all....

I saw the Emus and the Uggs in John Lewis. Am comparing the Emu Stinger boot with the Ugg in a similar style.

Price aside....which boot is the better one??

I would say Ugg too, have been wearing my classic talls for nearly 2 years now, fab!

BonjourIvressedeNoel · 12/12/2009 13:03

I love my emus.

celtic sheepskin - made in Britain from the last tannery in Britain, no air miles involved. Good price too, lovely stuff.

mistletoekisses · 12/12/2009 14:28

Thanks guys, just googled the celtic sheepskin boots, think they are only available online. I am so old fashioned, have to try clothes/ shoes on before buying them!

Uggs

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 12/12/2009 14:51

Another vote for celtic sheepskin. They really are fab.

I have a free delivery code I can dig out if you want it.

fluffles · 12/12/2009 14:59

celtic sheepskin or the fitflop boots i'd say.

though i've got merrel boots myself but they are leather with sheepskin inside and round the top cause i wanted ones that would be better in rain/mud.

I also have the fitflop boots, the short 'Mukluk' ones, they are fab as well, I have very small feet so they make my feet look square though. Super comfy.

santaschristmascakeywakey · 12/12/2009 15:17

Emus are nice, but it might get a bit annoying cleaning up after them

mistletoekisses · 12/12/2009 15:18

LOL santa...

am actually really liking the look of the celtic boots also. thanks for the recommendations guys! so many styles, will have to have a good look.

Uggs for me. In fact have asked DH for the cardigan type Uggs for Xmas this year, do you think I should get them in grey or black???

mistletoekisses · 12/12/2009 16:50

Thank you for the code!!

I would get the UGGS in black. I know the other colours look great, but black I think looks the nicest and will go with more stuff.

If you must try them on before Christmas then go for Emus, beautiful quality and not as ubiquitous as Uggs.

My personal vote would go for Celtic Sheepskin, though. Lovely products and you're buying British. Good customer service too, you can always send them back if they don't fit.

PrammyMammy · 13/12/2009 00:19

Don't get the cardi uggs if you have a dog or cat.. eapecially if you have a small fluffy white dog and black cardi uggs.
I've had my short grey ones 2 years and they are still great. My dog sticks to the cardi ones but they are soo cosy and my dp is buying me some classic chesnut ones for Christmas. Uggs all the way.

mistletoekisses · 13/12/2009 08:56

I am heading out today with DH to try some of the styles on...he is going to have to wrench them off my feet to wrap them for christmas day.

thanks for all the advice ladies!

EMUs !!!!!!!

Far better quality imo, and not so common popular

Checkout Amazon for some good deals...

Jojay · 13/12/2009 09:26

I got some Emu's last year and they've got a hole in the sole and another part of the sole has come unglued. They're comfy but I'm not impressed with the quality.

drinkmoretea · 13/12/2009 09:56

Did you have Bronte or Stinger though Jojay?

Jojay · 13/12/2009 13:39

Don't know. Mid calf height with toggles on the side. Chocolate colour

PrammyMammy · 13/12/2009 21:57

I got black EMUs 3 years back, the year before my first uggs and the seam up the side came undone and my sole wore quickly. I had to bin them. They just looked a little taller than short classic uggs, but didn't have the quality.
