Mine's rather tricky I'll give you an example;

My mum found a pack of supermarket pants in their wardrobe and so took them out of the packet and put them away....My dad found them and was very disappointed to say the least as she was meant to wrap them up for him as his present from her! Terrible, terrible! Must be to do with having only an orange each year when he was growing up

Complete set of Cary Grant DVD's so he can pass the long winter evenings with something he will really enjoy.

My brother is getting him a personal alarm he can wear round his neck, which is why I splashed out on the DVD set.

Subscription of a magazine that I thought he would like. Have not done this as a gift before- am hoping he likes it.

Oh yes, and a framed Matt cartoon connected to his profession

I've got my dad (62) a pair of Arsenal tickets, an Arsenal hat and some Arsenal socks. He's an Arsenal supporter by the way

For my Grandad (80) I've bought a jumper, some whiskey truffles and this nutcracker. He has a good sense of humour, and still rages about Thatcher all the time so I think he'll like it

gigglebells · 12/12/2009 00:32

an mp3 player... with radio He's 77 btw.
Unfortunately for him I was unable to make my mother quiet for a bit, so I bought the next best thing

FIL has got a subscription for Radio Times. He can't do much as he's been ill with cancer so we figured this would be something he would use.

My dad has got the Michael Palin collection on DVD.
