Anyone got Playmobil police boat and/ or camper van?

Do they take ages to put together? Trying to work out whether to make up before Christmas Day or wrap the box!

have bought Camper van for dd1 (from her Gran)- have put it together already. It didn['t take that long but it's worth doing it in advance I think as there are a few fiddly little bits. Best done without a child hanging over you nagging you to hurry up

Looking at all the tiny bits and bobs that go with it I was wondering if I should just lose half of them now to save dd1 the trouble...

We've got the police boat. Took about 20 mins to fit all the bits on it. DS loves it especially as it actually has a motor and can go in the bath, but the bits do fall off quite easily.

depends on age of child

iirc both need some minimal fitting together, stickers sticking on the dashboard etc

if they are young enough they won;t notice it needs doing
if they are older they will be happy to do it themselves

it's if they're in between that you may run into trouble ie when they open the box and a cascade of bits drops out that doesn't look like the picture...

Thanks - mine are (just) 5 and 3 so I think I'll be the one doing it....

DS loves sitting with Daddy and building his Playmobil (Think DH likes it too!) - I seem to remember that the camper van didn't need much, just wheels and stickers.

Yes put the camper van together yourself. It's fun doing it without pesky small fingers putting bits in the wrong place too.

CatIsSleepy · 10/12/2009 11:30

ah i know dd1 for sure wouldn't have the patience for the putting together bit so Mrs B is right-depends on the child

We've got the the camper van, I don't think it tooklong at all to do. As the other poster has said there are loads of little bits that go with it. The cups and plates are long gone.

SexySantasWearPrimark · 10/12/2009 11:32

Oh but my DC would cry if I did the stickers for them.

we have the camper van, doesn't take long at all to build. we haven't lost any of the bits for it either (yet!)

I'm not allowed to assemble any Playmobil without being supervised by ds .
