I bought Private Eye sub for Dh but...

I bought DH a Private Eye subscription and have been sent the free Christmas cards, but is there nothing you get that you can wrap up like a surprise I got you this! card or anything?

My Mum gets this for DH every year, he spends ages on the loo reading it, vile I know. She wraps an actual copy of Private Eye round a bottle of whisky and wraps it up!

no i don't think you get anything - I jsut write it in a card for my dad

ahh i have got a sub for a magazine for dp too, and need a little token thing to give with it.,
not sure what though, and it isn't a magazine i can pick up in a shop either. hmm

I like the whiskey idea.

My mum always buys me a sub for a glossy magazine. As a gift its fantastic as its something I would consider a luxury so wouldn't buy it for myself, but I do feel a bit deflated every year when all I have to open is an envelope with the receipt in it and everyone else has a 'proper' present.

(OK so I'm still 12 at Christmas time)

I saw Ian Hislop on breakfast this morning and he was plugging a Dumb Britain book so may get that and put a note in about the sub.

I'm sure I got a card last year.

I make a cheery card and print off a copy of the magazine cover for the front of the card and put all the details inside

I'd wrap a copy round something drinkable - great idea!

I got this for my dad when I was a teenager, and I made a miniature Private Eye (just a tiny piece of folded card) and put it in a very large box!

Got the new Dumb Britain book, it was only a couple of quid so very happy with that
