Santa

Snowflakes

Snow scene

I've never used gumpaste for modelling before so am really quite chuffed with how it turned out.

These were all for the Church Bazaar on Sunday - question remains how am I going to ice the one I've made for us?

Wow!

I think it's safe to say, mine won't look anything like those!

Fruitysunshine · 08/12/2009 23:11

They look great! I am envious of anyone that can ice cakes. I ahve been trying for 17years and STILL can't produce anything that looks remotely presentable!

They're fab. I love looking at mumsnetters cakes on these threads - such clever people out there .

LadyOfTheFlowers · 08/12/2009 23:15

They are all lovely.

Very theraputic isn't it?

ClaireDeLoon · 08/12/2009 23:16

Absolutely beautiful! How much are you charging for them? And how much icing sugar etc do you have on yourself and the worktops? I'm usually a mess after decorating a cake!

Thank you for the lovely comments

LadyofTheFlowers - yes, it's very calming - I spent a lovely Friday afternoon rolling and cutting and smoothing...

LadyVoluptua,it's good fun, isn't it? But a very expensive hobby... if I added up what I've spent on 'must-have' equipment over the years I'd probably faint!

carries, the big one was for a raffle so I donated it, the others were sold for £20 apiece.

The kitchen was not a pretty sight afterwards, but I was okay thanks to my wrap-around pinny...

I'm actually doing the food hygiene cert at college tomorrow so that in the New Year, once my kitchen's passed council inspection, I can legally sell them - I've been doing them for friends & rellies for a while now but have been asked by others if I'd do ones for them, so I'm making it all official. Scary stuff!
