Ds (8) went to a party this weekend and had one of these crystal growing kits -magic garden in his party bag.

We set it up last night. Was a bit fiddly but the results are amazing. Ds and dd (4) think it's great. I'll try to put a pic on my profile.

I thought it would make a good stockling filler or inexpensive present for someone. I see there are others available on amazon.

What other wierd and wonderful stocking fillers have you found? I've got all the usual dvd, book, socks, tothbrush.....

I got one of these for my DS stocking - I remember them from when I was a kid and have looked everywhere for them. Have had to wrap it up to stop myself getting it out and playing with it - its very addictive!

That looks a good website.

I remember ''worry dolls'' and ds would love the 'spud gun' but, I suspect, it would be come very annoying - not least to his sister who would be his target!

Oh, those magic gardens are fab, aren't they?We sold them where I used to work. I'd forgotten all about them.

I still fondly remember having a magic garden in my stocking one Christmas, so I agree that it's a good option

And even better, I can throw it away when they get bored of it
