Something to do with mr squiggles apparently. Manufacturers say all is fine.

Flame · 07/12/2009 08:31

safe article

Seems to be only Sun and Star saying they are toxic...

borderslass · 07/12/2009 08:32

It was on our local radio news about it.

Bloody hell. The only present I've got for DD this year is a Mr Squigles. Bought on ebay for a ridiculous price as well. What do I do?

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:12

will a private ebay seller accept a return normally? Bugger bugger bugger.

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:17

Seller does not accept returns. Am distraught. Was made redundant and now on sick benefit. No more money for another present .

GypsyMoth · 07/12/2009 09:24

i don't think i would risk it to be honest.

Flame · 07/12/2009 09:29

SoF - as unethical as it may be, I would say put it back on ebay and hope to recoup some money from someone who hasn't heard about it

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:30

I thought of that briefly but I don't think I could do it.

Flame · 07/12/2009 09:31

How about if you put them on with a link to both the good and the bad article so people could make an informed choice?

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:32

I'm going to look around the flat to see if there is anything I can sell instead. I have a Waterman fountain pen my father gave me when I was 14. I have nothing else of value.

Flame · 07/12/2009 09:33

tbh though when there were the issues with the bindeez, and the various things with lead in them there was huge recalls etc. The fact that the company aren't doing that makes me trust them more.

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:33

Flame, that's an idea. Not sure I'll get what I paid for it tho but it might be worth a go.God, I hate this.

Flame · 07/12/2009 09:34

(I am saying all this as a passive observer though - my children seem to have bypassed the hype)

How old is your DD?

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:34

I know, Flame. But I have a DS who's 21 months and is at the oral stage.

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:34

DD is 9.5.

Flame · 07/12/2009 09:36

Aaaaaaah yes. I know it is your DD that is affected by this particular gift, but how are you off for buying presents for DS?

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:38

Well, I got DS a couple of cars. Pathetic really. But I'm hoping hugs will suffice this year

Flame · 07/12/2009 09:39

Can you email me - flamesparrow at gmail dot com please?

borderslass · 07/12/2009 09:41

SOF But there the Christmas's they remember most, mine say the best Christmas's where when DH was off sick and we had no money so they appreciated everything they got.

borderslass, I hope you're right. Had a rubbish year with mental health issues so really wanted to bring a bit of joy to the family this year. But then I think of TrinityRhino......

SexOnFire · 07/12/2009 09:47
