I wrote the last of my Christmas cards today.

All I need to do now is check a few addresses and buy some Scoutpost stamps and we're good to go!

My secret is to do five a day (which takes a few minutes, 15 at most even if you need to write a quick update on yr life) from the end of Nov. I write a horrifying 75 btw

(I am not hideous organised woman btw, still have barely wrapped any pressies and in fact don't have DS2 main gift and may not be able to get it in time....)

Show off.
I have bought mine.

Bleatblurt · 07/12/2009 00:12

No, the secret is to not write any!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 07/12/2009 00:13

Please do mine! I also have 70+ and it's my most hated job of the year...

ilove · 07/12/2009 00:19

I posted mine on Sat! I send around 100...

jasper · 07/12/2009 00:21

agree butterball.
Just say no

Fruitysunshine · 07/12/2009 00:21

Ahem. I posted mine last Tuesday. 2nd class. Peeps started receiving them Friday onwards.

inspects nails from a distance...

Clary · 07/12/2009 00:22

Yes I am showing off but in my defence I used to have a colleague who used to waltz in on an October morning saying "well, that's all the Christmas shopping done". I would go grrrrr.

I always think it might be good to send none but then I worry about aged aunts etc and it seems mean not to.

We make ours btw (total madness emoticon).

wicked witch I recommned you follow my fantastic breaking it down plan.

If you do 10 a day (not a mountainous task) they'll be done by next week - plenty of time!

Ah now I haven't posted any yet. For some reason I hold off on that until about Dec 10. No idea why.

Impressed with you other organsied ladies tho.

Now where can I get that junior sized replica footie kit....

this is the first year in years I have been SO organised and it is only because I am using the Holiday Control Journal from Flylady!

Thats a good journal fruity...will print out tomorrow I think.

Fruitysunshine · 07/12/2009 01:01

I have written in most of it! I have done all my christmas shopping (bar the children - all being done in one day next week), sorted all the menus, everything basically.

Just relaxing now.....

nappyaddict · 07/12/2009 13:32

Those that don't send christmas cards what do you do instead (email, phone call, text, facebook etc?) And what about the elderly or people who live a distance away that you don't get to see very often?

nappyaddict · 07/12/2009 13:35

Oh and what about your DC. Do they send them to their friends at school?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 07/12/2009 13:38

Our scout post had to be posted by today so that's 62 cards done!

Got about another 40 to do to go in the normal post then do the wrapping of presents. Not bad for me at all!

oldwoman · 07/12/2009 13:43

You all send loads!! I think I've sent 10. Plus further ones for about half of DS's class - school collect them up and distribute them at an appropriate time.

Buda · 07/12/2009 13:44

I have done some of mine. Agree that a few a day makes it easier.

Hoping to finish tonight and then tomorrow do an email/ecard to those i am not sending cards to - have lots of friends overseas.

Just sorted presents for nieces and nephews into piles on spare bed. A couple of gaps there.

Need to finish DS off. Clary - am also on hunt for football kit! It seems to be an annual event for me - last year a very kind MNer bought a top that DS wanted and posted it to me and I sent her a cheque. This year he wants a Liverpool jersy with 'Torres' on and i can't get it in his size on-line. A friend is looking in UK for me tomorrow.

I don't for a second believe you hate to be smug!

I'm still working on the thank-you letters from my summer wedding!

Clary · 07/12/2009 14:34

no you're right cranky, I am lurvin it

I agree, cards to some people surely essential? My MiL would never speak to me again if she didn't get one.

I never sent them to work colleagues tho, felt that was stupid as I was usually there on Dec 23.

I should also add that I was made redundant on Nov 17 so have had plenty of time to be all organised this year

Just called team shop about footie kit and got answerphone at 2pm wtf?
