and thereby guarantee a reply? We've moved recently and because of all the postal strikes etc I haven't sent out any change of address cards, just emailed those I'm in regular contact with. Just sending out my Christmas cards now, so do I stick my new address in to the cards I'm sending to people I really on communicate once or twice a year? Does it make me look like I'm fishing for a card?

Nah, stick your new address in. That way, people can send cards to the right address instead of maybe sending to your old address and then you thinking they never sent one.

I always put my address in my christmas cards; just in case people don't know it.

i have to this year because i have moved.

Can't get my head around this card thing. What's the point?

handbagofoblivion · 04/12/2009 17:20

I always put my address on all letters/cards I send and I haven't moved for years.

GrimmaTheNome · 04/12/2009 17:24

I put my address in after I'd moved, and thereafter if someone who usually sends a card didn't the year before in case they lost my address.

Its a painless way of preventing accidentally losing touch.

Yes I do, especially as we have moved twice since Christmas 2007 (once back to the UK so make extras sure I've covered all eventualities). I get a load of those small address label stickers.

cybil, I do umm and ah about it every year, but when it comes down to it, I actually quite like receiving them, so perhaps those that get mine are quite chuffed too. I dunno, maybe they think I'm silly for sending them but it's quite a nice ritual for me to sit down and write a little note to friends with a nice cuppa and a mince pie.
