Can anyone recommend a good place to see Father Christmas in London? We live in north-east, so central or north-east would be best. Thanks.

Harrods is the best place to go. And it is free. They are fully booked out, but I called them recently and got cancellation tickets (not for weekends though).

Selfridges also has a good grotto. Also sold out, but you can queue on the day. Not free though - £2 a person.

Selfridges is the best grotto as has a train ride (did last year)but Harrods is best for atmosphere and better deal on photos.

They got a free Wizard of Oz book this year in Harrods from Santa which they were really chuffed with.Fab toy dep(way better and nicer than Hamleys)and they have a Wizard of Oz theme going on in the windows and store. My dc 6,6 and 5 adored it,could have spent all day in there.

We bought the kids a hugely over priced milkshake in the ice cream parlour thing in the sweet department, they sat on high stalls and thought they were the bees knees. They loved the way everything was over the top.

Pizza Express is just round the corner if you have Tesco points.
