mobile phone for DS1 for Christmas - which one?

Made a fool of myself (surely not ) today in Phones4U when I failed to buy DS1 the Sony Ericsson W205 - it was £30, then it was £40 with top-up, then oh yes look you need a £13 card or the MP3 will be no good, so that makes it £53 - I left.

So what to get? It needs to be cheap-ish but not crap; flash enough to impress pals but not so much as to impress thief; I reckon it needs a camera and ability to play downloaded music; and PAYG of course.

I'd like it if it was £40 or less including all top-ups and MB add-ons. Anyone any great thoughts?

hey hun, which network do you want him to be on? www.play.com have phones that come with sims, or without and you can buy the sim seperatly if the phone he wants doesn't come on the network you want. A tip though, I've used ericsson forever and I find them to be brilliant so would suggest one of them =]

The one you linked to is the one I was going to buy for £30 actually.

I was hoping to find something for around £40 that didn't need a big extra card to make it a viable MP3 player too. Am I on a hiding to nowt?

(That said, my reasearch has uncovered a handy looking phone for £10 which I may well buy for myself....)
