DD(10) main present ideas please

I am sorry if this thread has been done before I am really struggling for ideas for a main present for dd age 10 this year. She has a cheap mobile (which has a camera in it),a bike,we have the wii as a family to use and she has a ds. I was thinking of a maybe a cheap camcorder ~(think it is called flip) or a karaoke machine but been searching the net to find reviews on them to see if they would be any good.Or do I really need a main present for her?, every year we have always done the main present thing.

My DD is the same age so I hear ya!

My DD likes listening to CDs so I'm getting her a CD player for her bedroom (she had a cheap crap one a few years back but the CD player has broken) - will prob spend about £40 on it.

Other ideas include a jewellery box (nice big ones in Argos - DD has a cream coloured leather look one which is quite grown up), or a metal make up box which opens out and has drawers (also Argos), it's metallic pink, stores all the nail varnish and lipgloss. About £15.

This year DD asked for CDs and jewellery. New Look have nice stuff so I'm steering away from the main present thing and going for more "grown up" stuff which is what makes her happy.

A great idea (stolen from Maureenmlove) is make her up a hamper of lovely toiletries, pick her favourite colour and fill it with a bath scrunchy thing, nail polish remover, cotton wool, foot scrub etc etc.

Thanks Kbear for the suggestions they are really helpful I have got her things like the soap making kit and some arty type stuff she did mention hair rollers and makeup to play salons etc.
(it is usually my hair that ends up with a new style or her little brother who isn't impressed!!!).Like you say the more grown up things sound better the jewellery box idea is great she could hold her earrings in it as well as hair cliips etc.She seems to be more into clothes and she is on about JLS cd.thanks

Dsd 10 is getting:

Perfume making set
Some boots (ugg type)
Lip balm making set
A puzzle ball
Craft set (card making/scrap booking)
Clothes.
Bubble bath.

Not really anything big, these are all things she asked for apart from the boots (she needs boots).
