What are you most looking forwards to about christmas - and what are you not looking forward to the most?

i am looking forward to having everyone at my house for christmas day, there is going to be 11 of us for lunch, from mine and dh's side of the family, people come at around 10/11am and they stay all day (until 8pm). usually its just my family as dh's family live a two hour drive away but this year they are coming too.

the bit i am not looking forward to is all the cleaning before and after christmas day! and the hangover lol

Most looking forward to 2 things (apart from the obvious kids seeing their pressies)

One is late on Christmas eve, DH, who used to be a butcher, bones out the turkey thighs, stuffs them with some of the Xmas sausagemeat stuffing, and the 2 of us eat them with some crusty bread, pickles, and always get some good white wine (as opposed to the usual £4.99 stuff we buy the rest of the year) Then put out the Santa pressies...slightly tipsy from the wine

Second is boxing day - we all stay in our pj's all day, eat leftovers, get to play with the kids toys (it's too manic in our house on Xmas day) and just pretend like the world outside doesn't exist. It's my favourite day of the year!

Least looking forward to Xmas eve too - this has been an argument DH and I have had for years - MIL insists we all bring the GCs to hers in the evening, and she has a little party.

I know she looks forward to this so much, puts in loads of effort, even decks out the garden in loads of lights, and gets one of DH's brothers to dress in a santa suit and give out pressies, but I HATE it.

I KNOW I'm being selfish, but I do all my Xmas dinner prep on Xmas eve, and really just want to give my kids a bath, get them into their new jammies, read them a Xmas story, put out the Santa snack, and hang the stockings at a decent time (like I did as a child) instead of bringing them home late, tired and full of sugar, and having already opened presents.

Selfish I know, but is the one thing I really don't look forward to.
