Any good suggestions for buying paper chain strip? Found some online £1.50 for kit and £4.99 postage!

And no I don't much fancy cutting up my own!

There's a cheap Christmas shop near us which sells them for £1 (or it could be £1.99, wasn't paying much attention)a packet

Phoenix cards did some a couple of years back - usually represented at school and charity Christmas fairs

I've had previous good experience of the ELC stuff but bought it for church last year, made metres and metres of the stuff and it wouldn't stick. Or it stuck for a bit so I hung it up and down the long corridors, it looked lovely but when I went away and came back it was all unstuck, aaargh! Several of us went round with staplers sticking it back together (for days!) until I ripped it all done in a rage!

I'm selling it well, aren't I?!

ELC have some great ones and i think they are on offer (they were last week).

DoIForgiveAndForget · 27/11/2009 14:25

focus do lovely metallic foil ones that don't rip! me and dcs had great fun with them last year. they even have sticky tabs on them so you haven't to to mess with glue/staples etc.

pookabelle · 27/11/2009 14:25

Pheonix have some lovely designs - they are not the stickiest strips in the world so we ended up glueing with a pritt stick.

We spent Sunday afternoon making ours - a pack from Yellow moon - cant remember how much they cost. They have cute pictures on them and stick really well. Would highly recommend.

cherrymonster · 27/11/2009 14:36

wilkinsons have them for 97p plus 3 for 2

Here are some Phoenix ones!

nickelbabe · 03/12/2009 12:22

you mean as in the little strips of paper that you make into rings and tape together?

why are you even buying it?
get some old wrapping paper and cut it into 10" strips (1" wide) then make circles and glue.
or go to a card shop and buy some sheets of metal paper.

nickelbabe · 03/12/2009 12:23

sorry, didn't read your last sentence (but read all the replies: d'oh!!)

i still say make your own is easier.

Bleatblurt · 03/12/2009 12:26

I got some nice ones from Homebase for £1.99.
They have been up since Sunday and none have come unstuck.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 03/12/2009 12:29

i'm amazed that people buy paper chains.

you learn something new...

Bleatblurt · 03/12/2009 12:33

I spent hours of my life last year making them so decided this year I'd rather do something productive MN those hours instead.

shoptilidrop · 03/12/2009 12:57

I just got some in tesco for about £1 i think.

Bettymum · 03/12/2009 12:58

I got some read, green and gold foil ones in Hobbycraft for £1.49, I think.
