I really need to get an actual present for a 12 year old boy. We will be seeing him at Christmas and he doesn't get many presents from people apart from his parents as his extended family all live abroad - so I know his mother would probably appreciate it if I got him something to unwrap...

Any suggestions?

Yes I think he has probably outgrown actual toys. I know he likes music, plays the piano & guitar. I don't think he's particularly sporty.

t-shirts are always good for boys cafe press does more personalised ones, or thinkgeek have some good ones. Next is a good high street place for clothes for boys too.

How about something like this as he is musical? Caribbean finger drums. I found them in Boots for £10.
