Do you get anything for teachers?

My DD started reception in Sept and am new to this - do you all buy little pressies for teachers & TAs?

Yes, I tend to buy them a bottle of wine each. Sometimes the class rep does a collection though and gets some vouchers or something.

ds will make a card if he like the teacher. def don't buy them stuff though. seems a bit 'creepy'

just got a box of biscuits for staffroom last xmas

before summer hols we all put in a tenner and got m&s vouchers

I made them ribbon-tied cellophane bags of gingerbread (which DD iced) and brownies last year. They got a box of cupcakes each for the end of term.

Not sure what they'll be getting this year, have gone back to work 5 days a week so am not at leisure to do all that hand-made malarkey.

Friends who are primary school teachers say wine is always appreciated (they get an awful lot of market tat ornaments/soap type gift sets which have obviously cost a fiver or more but would much rather have the booze equivalent!)

Absolutely.
I give her the all round joy of teaching DD all year.

DD will write her a card from the boxes I bought from Woolies for 25p last year.

I didnt bother last year but this year dd1 wanted to get something for her teacher as she is into Winnie the pooh (the teacher not dd1) , so i picked up a Pooh diary from poundland .
