Non-toy present ideas for 15m old and 2.9 yr old

Hi,

I'm a bit stuck for present ideas for DNiece (15m) and DNephew (2.9). Their mum doesn't want them to have "toys or plastic junk", or for her house to be "cluttered up with kids' stuff".

I was wondering whether I could get art stuff for DNephew, is he old enough? And what sort of stuff would be best?

I'm really unsure what to get DNiece though?

non-messy art stuff (stickers and sticker-based things are good) for the 2.9yo. Not paint or glitter - wrose than toys for creatign mess

My DM's getting them books, so stickers and clothes sound good.

(Their mum sounds a bit of a PITA btw... its xmas FGS - its about toys and plastic junk and kids stuff)

Membership of a local child-friendly place like a farm park?

Thanks for all these! I think she's being so strict because they've just moved continents to France (where her DH's family are) and they're sharing with the ILs at the mo and will be moving into a teeny-tiny flat, but I still want to get the children something fun.

I doubt they'll be able to afford a tv or dvd player for a while as things are really tight for them, and they had to leave most of their stuff behind when they moved, which is why I really want to get them some nice and fun things.

They'll be moving in the new year so I have no idea where will be local for days out or a farm which is a shame because those are fab ideas.

I like the idea of fun pyjamas and something for their beds as well, I'll see what I can find!

Lol, no it's fine, I thought the same thing as you when she first mentioned it, I'm just trying to be supportive and come up with excuses
