DP said good will hunting but thats his fave. What sort of films does your DH like. Ill ask DP hes a film buff too

StrictlyBoogying · 20/11/2009 09:29

Thank you. He likes good comedies and drama but has masses of DVDs already - including Good Will Hunting. He hasn't bought many recently so I was thinking of getting him some good new releases. I got Milk. thinking about Star Trek and Night at the Museum 2 for the special effects. Maybe The Hangover for laughs? What do you think?
If he buys the Playstation 3 he wants before Xmas then problem solved since I can get him a BluRay (I think it plays them?) of one of the films he loves.

StrictlyBoogying · 20/11/2009 14:27

Good idea..think I'll get The Fast and the Furious. He loves Robin Williams so suspect we may have Patch Adams somewhere. Cheers!

I bought Star Trek the other day for DP-£9.99 in sainsbos. We've already watched it though so not for christmas, really good.

I've bought him two boxed Bond collections from Morrisons £6 each with three films a piece and another boxset of all the Alien and Predator films £15.99 again from Morrisons.

I also bought a boxset of all the Indiana Jones movies from Amazon for about £15.

I've gone a bit DVD crazy this year!

I am going to buy DH the new Lee Evans one...though not a film.

StrictlyBoogying · 20/11/2009 15:06

Pineapple - was Star Trek good? He's not a Trekkie but would he enjoy it as a stand alone film?
Scorps - I hadn't thought of stand-up DVDs. I'll have a look on Amazon. Won't buy Miachael McIntyre or he may never speak to me again!

I have Russel Howards dvd thats really good, Frankie boyle is erm interesting

Pineapplechunks · 20/11/2009 17:19

Star Trek was a good film. DP is a trekkie so loved it but I don't think you'd need to know much about Star Trek to enjoy it. There aren't any trekkie only references that people who know nothing about Star Trek just won't get.

Obviously more enjoyable for trekkies because it's, well, a Star Trek film but I don't class myself as a trekkie and I liked it, wanted more at the end.

Moon is very good

StrictlyBoogying · 20/11/2009 19:08

Hadn't heard of Moon so looked it up on Amazon and I think DH would love it. Plan to buy it and Star Trek when I have some cash. My Brother would adore the Frankie Boyle DVD so inspiration all round!
