I want to put my decorations up

DH has gone out with DS1 so I was thinking I could get the stuff out the attic without DH moaning at me.

It's too early though, isn't it?!

I really, really want them.

I could just put up the doodahs and stuff but not the trees. That's OK, isn't it?

It's my DS3's birthday on the 22nd and DS2's on the 27th - I really should wait until after.

Come tell me to put them up!

My DH is back already and is scowling at me for just hinting at it.

I'm not allowed until the 1st December.

Other way round in my house...DH wants to put the decs up this sunday...but I love christmas too so I'm excited too
Not looking forward to dragging all decs out of garage where they've been stored for the last 11 months along with big hairy legged spiders wearing big bovver boots, waiting to scare me

You could tell DH that you need to examine the decs for signs of wear/ damage in case you need to replace any!!!!
It's a good idea to check your lights work before you get them all set up, and have to take them all down cos they don't. Men can't argue with that logic!

I love them but never put them up before December, and always leave them until 6th January before taking them down.

Me too, i can't wait, mine will go up on the 1st of dec .

I wouldn't, personally; but if you want them up, you should do what you want - it is harmless enjoyment, surely?

they will look a bit tired and start to annoy you by the beginning of december if you do. and you want it to be even darker and more decembery to get the full effect

anticipation's the best part of pleasure - we put ours up the weekend that school breaks up and not before.

used to be xmas eve but don't hink the children can wait that long.

They are out of the attic. I used the, "But I need to check everything is ok and if we need any new stuff," line.

I've managed to sneak a string of white lights up and DS1 has his little Christmas tree and is putting decorations on it.

My need has been satisfied. For now.

It's too early for me too and I've been excited about Christmas for weeks!!

I always wait until the 1st Dec (sometimes even the 2nd or 3rd but only in extreme circumstances!!). They do start to annoy me after a couple of weeks though!
