Hi all - friend is looking for one for her DS. Don't suppose anyone has seen anywhere with stock?

It seems like every Lego toy I try to buy is "out of stock" and when it comes in it's "out" again as soon as.

There is an mark up of £40-80 on ebay on some of them.

I will start earlier next year.

If it's Lego City Police Station no.7744 you're after, there are quite are few on eBay as Buy It Now items selling for around £90 including postage, as well as lots being sold at auction.

the lego shop in bluewater had them in last when browsing last week! (not sure if that is any help at all!)

Which one? The police station and the police commad centre are both in stock on the lego website.

I got it in Argos for £49.99 a few weeks ago. Possibly the first time I have had a smug feeling of getting item when it is a good time to get it

Deffo NOT paying £90 to some exploitative bastard on ebay. Would rather buy DS something else rather than pay that.

Amazon (or their supplier) want £96+ for it at the moment.

£80 here but has added value as you also get a helicopter, police car and motorbike.

The Lego website are saying that its not expected until the 2nd Feb 2010.

I am so glad I got mine early otherwise DS would have been crushed.

Learnt the hard way last year, we couldn't get the fire station or the police station, so this year I bought both in argos on offer a month ago.

Not sure whereabouts you are but Toys'r'us had some in Liverpool at the start of this week as we were considering one for DD2 so I checked while we there. May be worth checking your local one. HTH.

toys r us in Bristol (Bris) had got some in yesterday when I was there.

we got one last year for ds when he was 5. tracked one down to a local toy shop in cardiff (we are in scotland) and my brother picked up (they had loads of them) so maybe try a local toy shop.

its a popular toy, and the detail is fab but ours in in loft until he's older (I reckon 7) as its was too complex for him and kept falling to pieces and he couldnt put together himself.

Also warn friend it will take at least 4-5 solid hours to put together.

Is it worrying that I am rather looking forward to the construction (although may well change my tune by 25th December )

I loved putting this together last year. DS was supposed to be building it but, a bit like a jigsaw, every time i walked past I had to do a bit.

Toys r us is the place , they had them in Manchester today.
