Any suggestions on what to get my 43 year old Dad?

Hes all about electronics but the problem is he has the top of the range stuff and I will most likely buy him something not 'up to scratch' or something he already has.

I usually get him a really good £40ish bottle of whiskey but hes cuttig down so thats a no go.

Any suggestions?

riven, sorry for hijack, but how did the op go?

daisyj · 14/11/2009 19:13

DH is 42, and he says he'd like Grado SR60i headphones (£89.99 at iheadphones.co.uk). They are a What HiFi 5-star-rated product and apparently they are pretty fab - retro looks but sensational sound (he tells me). He'd also like whiskey and iTunes vouchers (please) .

bellavita · 14/11/2009 19:15

Bloody e'll, this makes me feel old. I could be your mum! I am 44. Sorry, that has not helped with your present has it?

How about a DAB radio?

Disenchanted3 · 14/11/2009 19:16

Another farking time-to-eye-up-my-zimmer-frame mum here (sigh).

DH gadget tech freak) got me this for my last birthday; I am not keen, but might quite appeal. Gift vouchers for Firebox would be good, too.

ShutUpandDrinkYourGin · 14/11/2009 19:26

is there a magazine he might like a subscription to?

TsarChasm · 15/11/2009 12:50

God I love my dab radio (which I had for my birthday). It must be an age thing. The Archers sound great on it

TsarChasm · 15/11/2009 12:52

Btw I get my dad (lots older) a subscription to Private Eye which he loves but so do I come to that. It's very topical and funny too.

flimflammum · 15/11/2009 12:57

Glad I'm not the only one who feels old now (was 43 two weeks ago)

Usually get DH (45) a shirt, or a CD or something musical (but we are crap at giving each other presents) - got him a 'mouse mat drum kit' one year, which was fun.

DaftApeth · 15/11/2009 12:59

Cashmere socks or jumper?

[wanders off muttering about someone same age as me being a grandad]

I'm getting this for my brother in law [wicked cackle emoticon]

moaningminniewhingesagain · 15/11/2009 13:00

My DH is older then your dad He will get jumper, gloves, The Now Show book, probably Peep Show DVDs, Good Pub Guide.

Tickets for an old 'uns gig? We just bought Cliff tickets for MIL recently

TsarChasm · 15/11/2009 13:03

RnB · 15/11/2009 13:05

Earlybird · 15/11/2009 13:07
