Walkie talkies for children - can anyone recommend some?

A brief google brought up these but I would prefer to buy something on recommendation.

I want to buy 4 (ie 2 sets of 2) and if they can all work interchangeably, that would be great, but if they only work within the pairs, I would settle for that.

I don't want to spend a vast amount - £10 for a pair struck me as just right

I don't want special kiddie ones as my children are old enough for more adult looking things, but equally, they are still children so I don't want anything hi-tech.

The basic idea is that each year I give my children something immediate to play with on Christmas Day, something that doesn't need setting up but which has novelty value. past successes have been torches, pop guns, things that fire foam rings (still popular) and those battery operated animals in balls. This year, I had the brainwave of walkie-talkies.

Anyone able to recommend a make?

watching this, am sick of shouting up three flights of stairs

We have the argos vakue ones. Hang on, i'll see if I can do a link.

here

We have used them for 2 years and they are still going strong. They have been in some rough places, like on the beach covered in sand but stil work.

We have 2 sets and they all "talk" to eah other - just make sure you have them on the same channel.

Oooh thanks for the recommendation MelonCauli. They are a bit more expensive than the ones I found but that might be an extra cost I am prepared to make if they last as long as yours have.

LOL @ nymphadora. I had not thought about using them myself but you have made me see the attraction!

We have some technika ones from tesco and were bout £14 - they look similar to the binatone ones - we have had endless sets of barbie/ poweranger shitey ones but the tecnika ones are fab - we have had someone comeon tem and say hello taxis though! We also found them v useful a few weeks back when ds fed an aerial through the wall to the loft and we were able to talk to each other without hollering up the stairs - right a bit , pull some more wire etc...

These? nappyzone?

Tesco might be a good idea as I have loads of reward points with them.
