I'm going to make up 2 hampers, 1 for my dad and his partner and one for my mum and her partner.

I don't want to spend a fortune but i want quality (ish) items so i will keep the hampers small.

What are you putting in your hampers?

i always make the PTA raffle hamper, so this may be bigger/more pricey than you want, but for ideas

mince pies
xmas pudd
xmas cake
choc yule log
shortbread selection
choc biscuit selection
crackers for cheese selection
box of chocs and/or selction box
couple of tubes kids sweets
2 x wine
2x other drinks eg shloer or posh lemonade
posh crisps eg kettlechips
jars x 3or4 (eg pickled onions, gerkins, beetroot, posh chutney, posh mincemeat, posh jam or marmalade with alcohol in)

for a small hamper for a couple I would do wine, chocs, shortbread, mince pies, chutneys if they like, cracker selection, posh jam

As well as OP we put things like christmas candles. A lovely xmas decoration as a keepsake.

Also some nice nuts ans a nut cracker .

Nice tea or coffee.

Try to balance out sweet and savoury items.
I try to buy homemade jams etc from local farm shops.

I made hampers for my Dad&his wife, MIL& her hubbie and Nan a year or so ago. I just put things in there that I know they'll like so for MIL, she had maltesers, walnut whips and candles. I also put in 2 mugs and some local tea, and a tea towel oh and a calender for the year.
