Be honest, is this a lame present for my nephews? Have you got boys ages 5 - 11?

I thought these toothbrushes were pretty cool.

My nephews are 11, 7 and 5. They are nice boys, not too streetwise. Will these be a bit of Christmas fun from their loving aunty? Or will there be rolled eyes and forced thank you notes?

I doubt the 11 year old will find them cool...

MaMight · 08/11/2009 18:40

Even this one bella?

I hate to say it... but yes.

The 11 year old would probably appreciate say The Guinness Book of Records? I know my 12.5 and 10 year old would.

ihatemyjob · 08/11/2009 18:42

My 6 year old loves his

bellavita · 08/11/2009 18:43

Or do the older ones like Top Gear? My boys always have it on - you could get the annual or one of the dvd challenges.

TotalChaos · 08/11/2009 18:43

i don't think toothbrushes are suitable for presents at all tbh. assume you mean that they will be main/only present?

Lilyloo · 08/11/2009 18:44

I think the youngest one might
tbh personal hygiene is pretty low down on my ds list of prioritys

MaMight · 08/11/2009 18:44

But... but I think they're cool and I'm 30!

Yes, but you ain't opening them on xmas day are you, ripping the paper off all excited like and then.... kaboom, what an anti-climax.

ConnieComplaint · 08/11/2009 18:56

I'm 32 & I like them.... not for a Christmas gift though

My nearly 6 year old and 4 year old would think the toothbrushes were OK but wouldn't get very excited by them; especially not as a Christmas present.

Lilyloo · 08/11/2009 19:16

What about these my ds would like them I wouldn't hence a great gift!

whichwitchisthis · 08/11/2009 19:33

I got these for my 3 yo and 7 yo last year thay aren't as good as they look

ds sais he couldn't even hear the music plus I ordered a blue one for him and a pink one for dd and the blue had the sugarbabes music and the pink one the music I wanted for ds...ooops

SixtyFootDoll · 08/11/2009 19:35

DEf not a good present for an 11 yr old.
I would give them as stocking fillers - did last yr to my Ds's then aged 8 and 5, but not as a 'present'

Tortoise · 08/11/2009 19:39

My DS's hated there tooth tunes brushes. Complete waste of money! Agree not the most exciting present.

shockers · 08/11/2009 19:55

I think my DS (9) would like them.
He is also very into Guinness Book of Records though.

jester68 · 09/11/2009 11:50

My daughter is 3 and she has one of them. Must say though had for 4 months and already not playing music anymore. Plus the head is fairly big!

Maybe the 11 year old would find a bit babyish but depends what he is into?!

For my 7 year old nephew we have got him the incredible hulk smash hands

For my 6 year old nephew we got him a magnetix set

Other ideas are lego (my 3 older brothers loved this and played with it for years), art sets, cd's, dvd's etc
