Am contemplating sending mine to see his favourite sports team. Alas it's totally beyond my budget but am unable to think of anything that comes remotely close to being quite as impressive.

Socks - meh.
Tie - ditto.

HELP!

DH is getting golf lessons from me and some new walking boots from DD.

SandyChick · 10/11/2009 13:34

DH and i are getting each other snowboarding lessons which we're doing next month. We're just going to do a little stocking of cheap novelty stuff for xmas day.

Havent got a clue what to get from DS to DH - probably something gadgety.

NeedaNewName · 10/11/2009 13:41

guitar lessons

mumto2andnomore · 10/11/2009 13:43

My dh is an arsenal fan and has asked for a brick with his name on, they are making a new walkway or something at the stadium and you can pay for an engraved brick-very exciting, not !

Tillyscoutsmum · 10/11/2009 13:45

DH wants a Lance Armstrong book, subscription to a cycling mag, some merino wool boxers and a weather station Geek

paddingtonbear1 · 10/11/2009 13:52

I bought dh the new Prof Layton ds game (pre-ordered on amazon). It arrived promptly. dd got hold of it and told dh. I had to let him have it early! Now I am out of ideas!

pagwatch · 10/11/2009 13:57

Its DHs birthday at the end of November and I just about manage presents from me and the children for that and then I am straight back into Christmas. And I have just had my birthday and he got me some absoloutely GENIUS presents....

I got him tickets to see Eddie Izzard last year. Thought about some tickets for rugby but he got me tickets to the Australia and the Argentina games so thats no good...

And I would look pretty grim in a g-string

..

Is it churlish to claim that he must be dull to be this hard to buy for?

tostaky · 10/11/2009 16:18

For DP -

  • something to do with sailing or running
  • an expensive bottle of Cognac

OR he lost his "manbag" recently, maybe i'll get a new one??

AllBuggiedOut · 10/11/2009 16:26

Dunno, but the LoveFilm subscription I got him for his birthday has been a big hit. HTH!

Lastyearsmodel · 11/11/2009 11:31

Woozlet I just Googled Baconnaise and it sounds perfect for my DP! But says not available in the UK yet - where did you find it?

shinybaubles · 11/11/2009 13:08

A baby that will be born on the 24th dec - I think that's enough - I on the other hand will be wanting lots of presents - lol .

Curiousmama · 11/11/2009 16:54

Do you mean this Lastyearsmodel?

ScattyKatty · 11/11/2009 16:59

A Panasonic Bluray player, that's what he asked for!

MamaGoblin · 11/11/2009 17:57

The boxed set of Sherlock Holmes audiobook cds off his Amazon wishlist (that I can finally afford for him this year, hoorah), a bottle of quite nice whisky, and he's requested a Panama hat for his birthday, a few days after christmas. DH is a somewhat chappish gent.

Lastyearsmodel · 11/11/2009 19:53

Ooh, yes, that's the stuff. And by my amazing powers of deduction, that site sells US food to the UK, yes? Thank you!

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee · 11/11/2009 19:57

a snog as we have financial constraints . i have enough tesco vouchers to get him a driving experience but then i could buy the xmas dinner with em hmmmmm

moodlum · 11/11/2009 20:01

baconnaise? Oh that is so perfect for DH.

I am getting DH one of these for the year just gone, with all our photos and things that the children said etc. At least in my Martha Stewart/Domestic Goddess type moments I am, whereas in reality I'll probably leave it too late

blurb

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 11/11/2009 20:03

DP claims not to want anything and we are broke, but have got him some small/secondhand things anyway.

A book about making compost
A book about building benders
Some seeds for this fancy multi-coloured chili plant he has been going on about

And DD (6) is getting him a t-shirt printed with a picture she drew of him and his dog on it (her very own idea!)

LaDiDaDi · 11/11/2009 20:03

A baby (ds due on Boxing Day) .

I've also bought him a coat and will get him some other bits and pieces. I always buy him less than he gets me lol! I deserve more for putting up with him .

DoingTheBestICan · 11/11/2009 20:31

Modern Warfare 2 & a metal detector.

Lilyloo · 12/11/2009 12:00

I think we may buy a joint pressie for each other this year.
Quite fancy a wall mounted tv for our bedroom as dd2 is finally moving out after 2 years in with dd1!!
Quite like the thought of chilling out in bed and watching tv.
