Does it count that DH will be working xmas eve andnew years eve and prob sleeping most of the rest?

So I will effectively be working??

notnowbernard · 05/11/2009 15:54

What does he do then? Surely he won't need that much sleep if he's working 2 shifts?!

Christmas Eve and NYE.
Not too bad really, DD will go to her CM.

HeadFairy · 05/11/2009 16:13

I've worked almost every Christmas Day for the past 9 years, this year.... I'm due to have a baby on Christmas day! Waaaaa??? I feel cheated!

Maize · 05/11/2009 16:22

I am banking so I won't work Christmas but I have to work over Christmas to make some pennies I think.

Looking at N. on the 23rd then boxing day night. Then N NY eve and N NYE day

Fun times.

reikizen · 05/11/2009 16:29

Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Years Eve. Could be worse. My nightmare shift is Christmas Day early where I wouldn't get to see the girls open their presents! Or, a week of nights over Christmas. Yuk.

girlsyearapart · 05/11/2009 17:01

He drives a black cab.

usually means that he works most of day then late till 2-4 am ish then sleeps till midday or whenever then repeat..

Rubbish for our social life but better for our bank balance than the previous job he had!

Anyway basically he sets his own hours so unlikely to do xmas day, has charity footie match boxing day then we always have a family party on New years day.

New years eve I'll probably be in bed on my own as can't see the point of staying up till midnight by myself really??

MsFat · 05/11/2009 17:06

I'm not this year. Hurrah! first in ages that I won't be. One of the few benefits of studenting.
I will probably fit in a few bank shifts to escape the madness and mayhem and earn some much needed cash. Probably over new years eve/day.

NightShoe · 05/11/2009 18:38

I'm a HCP and I resolutely refuse to work Christmas Day and have always managed to avoid it, so I have been very lucky. However, the payback I make is that I always volunteer and get to work night shifts on Boxing day, NYE and NY.

memorylapse · 05/11/2009 18:44

Im self employed so my last day is 20th December..then im working in the evening on NYE

PutDown · 05/11/2009 18:49

Probably late xmas day as I was off last year.Nothing else though.

gemmummy · 05/11/2009 18:51

xmas eve day, xmas day day, boxing day. then off all new years.

becky7000 · 05/11/2009 19:06

I was due to work a late Xmas day but am now going on mat leave on the 23rd- drastic I know! BUT they have already put me down for late xmas day 2010!

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 05/11/2009 19:09

Im opening the centre for familes on 23rd and 30th. We are meant to be shut but i really feel this is a time when parents need our support, and some times just someone to chat to other than just the children

Mine could have been worse... at least I get to see the present opening. And after my Boxing Day shift I am off until Jan 2nd
