Is my (almost) 6yr old the easiest to please child on MN???

I took the DS's to town today and in a bid to try and get some idea of little extras to go with their "main" presents asked them what they wanted for Christmas.

DS1 (9) helpfully couldn't think of anything - except for a PSP "which I know I won't get as it's too expesnive"

DS2 thought long and hard and then announced he wanted a calendar - as his main present.

My dd wants some jellybeans and for daddy to have the day off work. The first I can do.

Oh how sweet.

DD1 wants a laptop no chance

We had a friend come and stay with us in London once and we went to the Natural History Museum with her. She had a rather weird and wonderful list of demands for presents from 3 of her 4 children for stuff from there. The other child just wanted 'sweets'. I thought that was funny/cute!

(He's actually getting a High School Musical MP3 player for his main present) - but I guess I could stretch to a calendar for him as well ( especially as the ones he pointed out to me where the ones in the 99p shop )

For the past two years my DD (now 6) has asked for and been happy with a Torch and a Watch.

Last year they got a join present of a Wii so guess I must be doing something right that they're not expecting another mega expensive present each

My nearly 6 year old (I think almost exactly the same age as your DS2 - my one's birthday is 22nd November) seems to have grasped that you can't have everything you want, although he would love a lego police station (thanks to my selling things on ebay, using nectar points and argos having a good price for it, he is getting one ).

I think as long as there are presents he will be happy .

DD (4) said "I think most 4 year olds are happy with whatever they open"

yes - they are nearly the same age - DS2 is 27 November (what a FABULOUS day your DS was born on - the day we won the Rugby World Cup)

He was born on a great day indeed . He was born at 2:50am and the day got even better

I was lucky DS2 didn't arrive later that day as when Jonny kicked that ball over just as the whistle went DH and I literally jumped around the room.......mind you - my waters did go the following morining - don't think he liked being chucked around inside me like that and popped them
