DC3 or 4? What are their favourite toys please?

No idea what to get our two DCs (one 2.5, one 3.5). Not much space so whatever we get has to be good!

So far all we know is DS will get an electric train set (courtesy of DH) [hmm[ The wooden one we have is very well loved so we are hopeful this will go down well.

They already have a kitchen - but it's a piece of plastic ELC cr@p so was thinking of upgrading it to a wooden one?

Or, a wooden dollhouse for DD (2.5 but acts older)? She has baby dolls and little pram - seems to like it but not into dressing them or anything like that yet.

I think upgrading to a wooden kitchen would be a good bet and would suit both DCs now and last them for a while.

I think 2.5 is abit young for a wooden dolls house, but it will last her and you could always put some of the smaller bits away for when she is slightly older.

Doll's houses are useless imo. We got dd a lovely one when she was 3, she has almost never played with it.

Playmobil and duplo lego very popular in our house, from when dcs were the age of yours to now (5.5 and 3.5).

dd 2.5 is having a wooden kitchen & ds2 (also 2.5) is having a wooden garage

that doesn't make sense - that is what they are having for Christmas.

We are upgrading on the 2nd hand plastic kitchen and ds2 loves cars and a garage is something that ds1 didn't have

my dd2 (nearly 2) loves dd1 (4) cd player complete with microphone.
They often stage shows , singing and dancing etc

I don't think they are old enough to appreciate updating from plastic to wood tbh

Do they have ride on's ? Wheelybugs maybe ? (getting this for dd2)

We also have space issues so DD1 (3.7) is having the vtech camera. She wants to use ours constantly so I'm hoping it'll be a hit.

As an aside she already has a wooden dolls house with really chunky wooden furniture and both her and DD2 (1.7) play with it constantly

dolls houses come into their own from age 6 upwards IMO.

dressing up very big at this age - cloaks, hats, masks, gloves, toy sword if you approve, toy high heels, pirate outfits, princessy things, doctor's outfit with stethoscope - I prefer a box of bits and pieces to mix and match rather than ready made off-the-peg

have they got tents, dens, places to hide, crawl tunnel

have you got room for ride-ons like wheelybugs?

I think that parents appreciate wooden kitchen more than their children do - I don't think they'd even realise it was an upgrade, they'd just think "oh, it's another kitchen"!

Oh yes they love the CD with microphones too - and keyboard with microphone.

The john lewis CD player has 2 microphones to save squabbles!

Good to hear iheart our wooden dolls house is collecting dust at the minute!
Agree buying wooden from scratch is fine but not really going to be appreciated as a 'new' present by little ones.

I wouldn't bother with the wheelybugs but go for mini micro scooters for both.

I also wouldn't change the kitchen if they already have one (but I'm a cheapskate!)as having a wooden one will not actually make much diference to them, imho. Dd is now 4 1/2 and we have just got rid of her kitchen. Could you get any more food?

Playmobil noah's ark has been a great favourite of both of mine since they were 2yrs.

totally agree the micro scooters are great - we already have them and they are the single greatest purchase ever.

Peppa Pig is huge with DD so will keep the castle idea in mind.

Guess the "new" kitchen really would have been just for me .

Now if I could find something for DS (3.5)... something to do with dinosaurs maybe...?

if peppa pig is huge with your dd then go to asda now - they are doing a big playset with cars, characters, roundabout etc at 20pounds down from 42.

Kiddizoom camera also a good suggestion, and if you have outdoor space then a large trampoline with enclosure.

Dinosaurs - how about something from this page?

Ds had a playmat years ago with inflatable mountains and dinosaurs. He oves it still. Think it was elc but can't see it now.

The playmobil dinosaurs look good (not too many small bits so ok for younger ones), dd has been asking for these since last year.
