Where can you get them from looked everywhere on Harrods website and can`t see a link to actually get them?Desperate to not miss out this year.

gigglewitch · 21/09/2009 20:20

oh lordy, the "C" word is now on the board twice

Rachmumoftwo · 21/09/2009 20:24

I am staying up as can only get to London on 2 dates. Couldn't get tickets last year and was gutted.

BellaCullen · 21/09/2009 20:31

Oh,thought it was 22nd already stupid pregnancy brain. We live in Kingston so not far from London will check tomorrow morning then.

cece · 21/09/2009 20:34

I believe you have to pay for the tickets this year. (I may be wrong though..) Previously they have been free.

TBH last year was a bit disappointing. I shall be booking tickets for Painshill Park this year.

mamakim · 21/09/2009 20:43

You have to pay GBP5 per ticket i believe, however it is redeemable in store.

There was no decent grotto in Somerset last year so I am willing to travel while DDs still believe. At 8 and 6, how many years have we got until they stop seeing Christmas as magical?

Rachmumoftwo · 22/09/2009 06:32

Got mine! I stayed up but the site was too slow- must have been a lot of others doing the same.

Working fine this morning though, no problems but a few slots getting booked up already.

notgettinganyyounger · 22/09/2009 06:33

managed to keep it going with dd until 11, ds until 12 (!) and ds2 still fully fledged believer at 9 so plenty of time left rachmum.

Unfortunately it is school friends who put the kibosh on believing

notgettinganyyounger · 22/09/2009 06:35

oh crossposted was saying don't panic if you cannot get them this year, but now see you are sorted!

JackiePaper · 22/09/2009 07:50

is anyone else having problems getting the tickets? it's so slow, everytime i get to the page to confirm the order it just sends me back to the start to log in again. i must have entered it all about 10 times now and it just keeps going back to the beginning aaarrgggghhhhh!!!!

brimfull · 22/09/2009 07:51

went last year

was disappointing

waste of a trip

kslatts · 22/09/2009 08:51

I managed to get some at about 6am this morning for the last Sunday in November, a couple of the time slots for that day were already fully booked.

We went a few years ago before they issued tickets and had to queue for ages, but it was really good. You only pay £5 regardless how many tickets you get.

FritesMenthe · 22/09/2009 10:11

Booked some tickets earlier but didn't get a confirmation screen after completing all the payment details. BUT just managed to log into my grotto account and the tickets are confirmed in there.

Selfridges was quite good last year, but tbh I wouldn't make a special trip for either of them. Will combine Harrods with a trip to the museums.

Sourdough · 22/09/2009 10:28

Yay! Site has been temporarily removed due to 'unprecedented demand'.

Grrrrrr

MollieO · 22/09/2009 10:32

cece what happens at Painshill Park? Think I'd be more interested in that than schlepping up to Harrods.

posieparker · 22/09/2009 10:35

Cadbury Garden center is in Somerset, isn't that quite good?

LouLovesAeroplaneJelly · 22/09/2009 10:36

I have never been. Is it worth taking them?

mamakim · 22/09/2009 11:02

I've still not got mine, stayed up and it wasn't working. Still having problems now! Argh, bet i won't get my date. Tis probably my fault for advertising it on mn!

BellaCullen · 22/09/2009 12:11

Painshill Park; Santa sits in the grotto and the path was all lit up with candles down to the grotto. Waiting area is very civilised, with tables and childrens colouring activities. Tea and coffee for sale - much better than queueing for 40 mins...

Book tickets for when it is dark

NAS007 · 21/10/2009 16:28

HI IM IN SEARCH OF 4 OR 3 HARRODS SANTA GROTTO TICKETS CAN ANYONE HELP PLS

NAS007 · 21/10/2009 16:29

I CALLED HARRODS ON 02078938877 BUT THEY OUT OF TICKETS

IlanaK · 23/10/2009 22:05

I was gutted to have missed this. We go every year and I had no idea that the tickets had gone on sale this time. Can you go on an email list for this so you know when it happens?

I have booked tickets to Selfridges instead. It cost £8 for the three of us which is a bit of a shock as we have never paid before at Harrods, but from what has been said on here Harrods have charged this year anyway.

I remember the good old days when you just turned up and queued at Harrods. I liked it much better then.
