Last year I spent so much time making my badge I completely forgot to put my make up on!

So I kept the badge, ready for this year ]grin]

Mamazon · 15/09/2009 22:46

was it the Hat & tun last year? or am i imagining it?

KiwiKat · 15/09/2009 22:46

Right, well get started on the badge, then.

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/09/2009 22:52

Yes - because it became known as the Hun & Tat, I think!

Mamazon · 15/09/2009 22:59

oh good. glad im not going mad

it was held HERE last year and it really was a good venue.

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/09/2009 23:02

So shall we do it again?

If so, when would be a good date?

Mamazon · 15/09/2009 23:05

well i would suggest the end of November. december is usually a nightmare woith people already booked/skint.

saturday 28th November???

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/09/2009 23:06

Sounds good to me.

Should we ask MN to make this a sticky?

Mamazon · 15/09/2009 23:08

bit frightenin huh, especially as i am the least organised person i know.

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/09/2009 23:15

OK, Mamazon - I'm up for organising it, if you'll share the job with me!

SolidGoldBrass · 15/09/2009 23:15

I thought it was a good do last year, nice pub, nice food.

Fruitbeard · 15/09/2009 23:29

Yay, it was a very good do last year.

(the fact I was utterly inebriated within about 10 mins down to nerves and almost certainly made a complete tit of myself notwithstanding...)

If you need any help with the organising, let me know

AtheneNoctua · 15/09/2009 23:34

Kiwi, I think we have just been ousted.

I agree with Mamazon on both venue and date.

Same place.
28th November.
I'm in (not like anyone thought I wouldn't show up for a party).

So not much to organise then, really?!

Fruitbeard · 15/09/2009 23:51
Grin

The pub looks great. I was very pregnant last year and chickened out of coming. But I'm definitely up for it this time round.

Happy to help organise too if you like, if there's anything that needs doing.

Mamazon · 16/09/2009 07:48

well i can get all the details of venue /menu etc and check availability.
im happyu to give them a ring and confirm costs.

I think everyone paid £20 last year and that worked quite well.

Obviously it will be dependant on numbers and any increases in price but would that still be an OK amount for everyone to pay?

Flamesparrow · 16/09/2009 07:52

Mamazon - if you email flamesparrow at gmail dot com I'll sort the contact details for the woman at the bar

Mamazon · 16/09/2009 08:05

have done. Thanks

AtheneNoctua · 16/09/2009 10:35

I think this whole idea of a MN Christmas meet-up this year has got a shockingly low response. Maybe people will crawl out of the woodwork. But, judging from the threads (and there have been a few) I think I would expect a low turnout. And if that is the case, we might want to skip the food. I'm not bothered, personally. Happy to go with whatever you decide. But, just wanted to throw it out there as an option.

Should I alert the City Gals to this thread or do we want to start a new one with date and venue in the title?

I wonder why interest is so low though? Is it just that people haven't got the money this year, or is something else afoot?

Mamazon · 16/09/2009 19:47

dunno.

i will bump the other thread one more time but ifi there's still no response i will quit whilst im ahead

AtheneNoctua · 16/09/2009 20:00

I think there MIGHT be a mouldie factor. But, we can always have a West London / City Gal piss up dinner and we can organise it with a whole lot less hassle.

OP posts:
Mamazon · 16/09/2009 20:03

really? thast fecking tragic if something that happened 6 months ago is still going to prohibit a mass anual event.

i couldn't care less if mouldies come or not but would very ,much like for the people that post here now to come along and enjoy an evening of MNing face to face.

And tbh after the amazing generosity of many MNers towards me earlier this year i felt it only fair i pout myself out to do something for MN.

would be a shame if it all fell apart because of mouldiegate

AtheneNoctua · 16/09/2009 20:12

I could be wrong. I just know at least one person said she wouldn't come because of it. I don't know any details. An dI just assumed that perhaps the feeling was more wide spread. But,I totally agree with you that it is a shame, I don't mind if they come or if they don't, but I would like to have a big fun Chritmas meet-up because I always have a good time.

But, hey, small is better than none. So even if there are only 4 of us, I will come.

Maybe lots more will peer out of the woodwork when it gets closer to the time.

Or maybe it is just because the meet-up was made up laqrgely of people who are now mouldies and so don't type here.

Or maybe I am totally wrong and it has more to do with the economy.
