New Year's emails - photo or no?

I am just putting together my usual New Year's emails, which are basically like an electronic card ie there's a picture with the appropriate text, and then I write a personal message for each person (I do NOT do a mass global email).

The picture is usually something I draw or design myself, but I was wondering whether this year it might not be nice to use a photo of us instead (done in a terribly tasteful but slightly fancy-pants-arty kind of way - nothing with santa hats on or anything like that ).

Lots of the people I'm mailing are friends and family who live very far away and we do not see very often, so they might actually be interested to see how we (especially ds) look.

Or is that just too tacky for words?

I hope not.

We usually send a photo of us around Christmas or New Year, either printed out or in an email. Like you we have friends and family all over the world.

We decided to take the photo yesterday on a lovely sunny crisp frosty morning but what with sunglasses, hats and scarves, you can't see much of us.

Not at all tacky.
