here you go i don't want to spend too much but i don't want to get him something that he will think is really rubbish either. i've left it til now cos we won't be seeing him until new year.

bleurg, no need at all. just get him some chocs or something. that mug is nasty.

rolereversal · 25/12/2008 23:01

yes, are you winding us up??

emkana · 25/12/2008 23:01

err...are you serious?

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 25/12/2008 23:02

gir;y muds yes inappropriate (in fatc gnerally I wouldsay anything from Ann SUmmers form a child is inappropriate)... but the "showing off" mug in the same page not so inappropriate.

nappyaddict · 25/12/2008 23:02

i agree it is nasty but it is the sort of thing he would find funny.

OP posts:
emkana · 25/12/2008 23:03

He might find it funny but it's not something he should be given by his godchild IMO.

llareggub · 25/12/2008 23:04

Yuk!

No way would anyone find this an appropriate gift for a 2.6 year old. Have you been at the Baileys?

Gorionine · 25/12/2008 23:07

I would go for a mug that does not involve half naked women. Especially as it is supposed to come from a 2.6 Yo child.

Are children this young supposed to offer gifts to their godparents anyway?

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 25/12/2008 23:11

We bought DBiL a 'top bro' mug by jamie oliver from sainsbos, £8, can you find something that suits from there?

lou33 · 25/12/2008 23:21

if you want to get it for him, get it from yourself na, not from ds

nappyaddict · 25/12/2008 23:23

errr that would involve buying two presents. he doesn't deserve that many!

OP posts:
lou33 · 25/12/2008 23:25

then i would get him something else from your ds

nappyaddict · 25/12/2008 23:26

aha even better. found a personalised bottle opener key ring thing on ebay. if you got that how much would you thought it cost roughly.

OP posts:
VinegarTitsTheSeasonToBeJolly · 25/12/2008 23:26

Oh god its vile, get him a mug from snapfish and add your own logo and a pic of your ds or something

You can't give him something from Ann Summers from a 2 yr old, thats just tacky and wrong

nappyaddict · 25/12/2008 23:31

oooh or maybe this

Haribolicious · 26/12/2008 09:42

Stick with chocs I think - these kind of pressies would be funny if they were from you or a friend but not coming from your 2.6 godson - that would be rather odd in my book!!

TheSweetLittleBunny · 26/12/2008 09:47

Have you tried a Hawkins Bazaar shop. I think they do online too. Lots of jokes, tricks, puzzles and fun stuff in there. I think any present that has a drinking/sexual theme is a bit inappropriate from a child to an adult, personally

nappyaddict · 26/12/2008 10:59

really drinking aswell? the mug i thought would be inappropiate which is why i thought i'd see if everyone agreed on here. but drinking? i've always got my grandparents and aunts/uncles bottles of wine and lager sets etc.

OP posts:
TheSweetLittleBunny · 26/12/2008 12:48

If a two year old was old enough to drink and look at girly stuff then I guess that would be fine. If he were to choose his own present for his god-father I rather doubt that is what he would choose to buy.

nappyaddict · 26/12/2008 12:50

No he would choose to buy shampoo, bronzer or juice

OP posts:
beanieb · 26/12/2008 12:53

get him the one with the half naked bloke on, would that be less 'offensive'?

PortAndStilton · 26/12/2008 13:21

I wouldn't see a problem with a bottle opener keyring or a collapsible glass. It could hypothetically be used to open bottles of wholesome ginger beer anyway, if worried about the corruptive power of the demon drink. DS (2.11 at the time) chose for himself a bottle opener as his present for my brother last year anyway (it was an Alessi one so it was bright yellow plastic with a face on it; I don't think he actually knew what it was apart from something yellow and smiley).

But the mug in the OP would be inappropriate IMO.

mumeeee · 26/12/2008 21:56

No that is not an appropriate gift from a 2 year old.
