Will you do all the leaving mince pies out etc thing if your DC is only little (ie one year old ish or less)?

DS is 14 months old so doesn't have a clue about Christmas- I'd like to leave out stuff for Santa and Rudolph but I feel a bit silly TBH! I can't wait until he's old enough to get excited about it all I've already packed his stocking and put it by the fireplace (been there for several days now) and he hasn't clocked it LOL.

What traditions / plans do you have for your very little ones?

My DD is 18months old and last xmas, xmas eve, santa brings new jammies for everyone at our house and they get opened xmas eve

I think we'll probably do the carrots, mince pie and brandy out!

I didn't do it last year (18 months) but did this year although he didn't really understand.

We did it this year for dd's benefit - she's 2.7. She just about got what we were doing I think.

We did it for the 1st time this year. DS is 2.9 and he does understand that we put some mince pies out and they got eaten as we left the silver cases out so he could see them. He also understands that FC brought him Max and Monty (from Thomas) and he is extremely pleased. My neighbour has a lit up reindeer in his garden and I made sure my DS didn't see it til Christmas Eve - just before he went to bed, I showed it to him and told him FC was coming

i did it whaen dd was 6 weeks old

then again i also lovingly wrapped up every present and was miffed when she slept all morning and i had to unwrap all them with her snoozing in her basket.

DD is 13 months and I'm expecting DC2 in June. So, I'm we took advantage of this last-chance-ever-to-avoid-Christmas and did nothing at all (apart from having a top class lamb roast).

It's been fantastic! This has been quite a year, so it's been great to have one whole day just to be together.

Next year we'll do the whole palava, complete with mince pies for Father Christmas and carrots for the reindeer. Mind you, I'm not particularly looking forward to combining a 2 year old, a six month old, two cats and a Christmas tree...
