You need to set them up TONIGHT. I can't remember what you need to do to them but there is something that takes half an hour or so.

?

We got our girls a Wii last Christmas but they didn't open it until after lunch. Then I'm sure dp just set it up within about ten minutes or so.

Fivesetsofschoolfees · 23/12/2008 12:18

They don't have to start playing it the instant they get it, do they? Surely any kid can wait a few minutes.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 23/12/2008 12:19

Pretty easy to set up. Oursis often plugged and unplugged due to only having two scart sockets and me moving it every five minures because the wires get in the way when i am hoovering. My five year old took about ten mins to work out how to set it up again.

Just make sure you have a tv remote that can switch your tv to the av channel. That was the worst bit for us as we had lost ours and had to rail to tesco to get a universal one. Setting that up was a bugger.

well tough the DS's is already wrapped, they're not just getting a Wii though - got a few other bits and pieces to play with - so I'm sure they can wait a few minutes while it's set up!

ChippyMyrrhton · 23/12/2008 12:31

If you have the rechargeable batteries and charger you may need to charge them first

poinsettydog · 23/12/2008 12:31

My mum has won a wii fit . And I don't even like them - har

themoon66 · 23/12/2008 12:33

Good point about the batteries. I hadn't thought of that. Shall I need AA or AAA?

Astarte · 23/12/2008 12:33

You'll be fine to set them up on the morning. Took Dh about 10 minutes to sync the wiimotes, that's all.

ChippyMyrrhton · 23/12/2008 12:36

My rechargeable ones are AAA (my wii charger came with different, smaller battery covers for the wiimotes), but the normal batteries are AA. If you use normal rechargeable batteries they would have to be AA.

ChippyMyrrhton · 23/12/2008 12:38

Sorry that wasn't very clear.
Buy some normal AA batteries

IllegallyBrunette · 23/12/2008 12:38

No it doesn't take long at all iirc.

We had a slight problem synching the remotes but a quick google solved the problem.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 23/12/2008 12:38

Mine just has normal durcell batteries and they are AA. They seem to last quite a while anyway but if yo think they will be playing constantly you might be better getting rechargable ones.

themoon66 · 23/12/2008 12:43

Thanks for that..... will pick up AA ones on way home from work.
