ours is naff too. we had to get a mini tree this year as the playpen is taking up all the space. i wince when I look at it . none of my poncy john lewis or pier decorations will fit on it.

sagacious · 23/12/2008 08:27

Ours looks like a killer spinny tree from Dr Who.

shootRudolphinthehip · 23/12/2008 08:28

Mine did look lovely until it got pulled over by my lovely 2 yr old DS for the 3rd time. It now looks shit. As does my front room as the 7ft round tree my be a little on the big side for such a wee room!

Same here, ds (aged 4) has told everyone "this year mummy says we have gone for tacky Christmas". Tree is already half dead and looks a dogs dinner but this is the most fun I've ever had leading up to Christmas!

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 23/12/2008 08:33

I left the kids to do ours
it is different lol
they love it

it even has loads a different lengths of tinsel draped over the front, mostly in one place

but they are very proud

ChristmasCakeYerbouti · 23/12/2008 08:58

I have two trees.

My big tree which I am precious about (and which DS2 has "helpfully" rearranged, and the smaller one for the kids which looks like it#s been shot by a tinsel gun.

DontCallMeSantaBaby · 23/12/2008 09:24

Mine DID look lovely - all silver and red decs, absolutely loads of them, and no tinsel. Since then, it has sprouted a bright PINK bauble (thanks, DD) and a fairy on the top made out of a bog roll (ditto).

lindenlass · 23/12/2008 09:32

Ours also looks randomly fabulous IMO, Christmas is a family time, so Christmas trees should be a family affair - who care's if the tinsel's all different colours, and the baubles are randomly placed? It twinkles, sparkles and looks special . I just tell myself that one day I'll be able to have a smart, poncy, stylish tree and then I'll be feeling sad that there aren't lots of children bouncing around excited about decorating it

BouncingTinsel · 23/12/2008 09:37

Now my ds made me a tree decoration that was red and gold - same colour as the rest [smug emoticon]

Not bad considering he is not quite 1 yet lol
