Presents for 6 year old girl and 4 year old boy - HELP!

We have some friends visiting just after Christmas. They live in Spain so we don't really know their kids particularly well, and my daughter is only two so I have few ideas from my own experience.

Give me some ideas for things that children of these ages would like, please? Pretty please?

Girl aged 6 is quite a tomboy but also interested in dressing up and stuff. Boy aged 4 is obsessed with Star Wars and Lego.

If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you!

ok so i have a 4 year old boy.
what's your budget?
any other limitations like small so they can take it home on the plane?

GrimmaTheNome · 22/12/2008 21:36

How about some pirate stuff, that would have suited my tomboyish but dress-uppy girl at that age, and ought to work for boy too.

Yes, small good and cheap good! I guess about a tenner each? Pirate stuff sounds like a good laugh for both of them and easily transportable, thank you. Any other ideas?

Do you think they might like a book or two each? I know their mum struggles to keep their written/read English up since they obviously go to school with Spanish-speaking children? Or would that be dull? And ideas welcome for any books that might be a good idea. Any piratey books about that would be nice to read to children of that age?

well i wish somebody would buy my kids this cable car set from myriad.
i think it would suit both the ages your taking about and you could get for them to share.
any good?

DS (nearly 4) almost self-combusted from excitement when he discovered that this book existed...

Those both look great, thank you so much. I think I might go for the cable car set - it looks like loads of fun. They are pretty good at playing together so I think it might be a winner. Thanks!

i'd love one of those for myself.
let me know how they look in real life.

I will, Dragon, thank so much for the recommendation. It really looks like lots of fun (and I quite want it for myself, too).

And thanks, Hula, sadly I had already ordered the cable car but cheers for the help!
