You need to use a glass that is slightly bigger than the base as the base and sides of the pie is one piece of pastry and the top is a slightly smaller circle.

hth

Experiment with anything round...mug, small bowl etc. Also the astry shrinks as it cooks so no worries about it standing a little "proud" of the edges of the tin.

Don't panic!

Use a bigger glass (size of a tumbler) - this should be the right size so you don't have to faff around cutting!

You need a bigger circile than the base as the outer part of the circle forms the sides. Air bubbles? Not sure what you mean?

The pastry might be a bit crumbly but shouldnt keep breaking. I would reroll the pastry with a few splashes of water and fold in some flour. Did you leave it for 30minutes in teh fridge wrapped up?

If you're doing stars then don't put too much mincemeat in as it could bubble over. Keep an eye on them when they're in the oven.

Good luck!
