Been organising the boys stockings and pillowcases of bigger FC presents this evening and had to cut through the sellotape on 3 presents to remind myself what they were

Not that i've bought them too much (well i probably have!) but i bought & wrapped them all ages ago I was being so organised!!

Anyway they were (if anyone's interested):

  • a small Thomas book with some stickers
  • a box of felt tips from Asda
  • a jumper!

Every year i do this, Ill never learn x

JustKeepSingingCarols · 20/12/2008 20:31

Sure i'll do it again, but this is the first year i've done 'proper' santa/FC presents as ds1 is 2.5 (ds2 11mo tomorrow).

Do you cut through the sellotape then retape?
That's what i did anyway, knowing neither boy would notice but when they are older they might!

Dd foraged under the tree today and came up with one for Grandma.

"What's this for Grandma"

"Erm......can't remember"

"It's squashy"

"No, still can't remember. Are you sure it says it's for Grandma"

"Yes"

I couldn't remember buying anything squashy for Grandma. Then start worrying that I've labelled it wrongly. Unwrap it just to see what I've done.

BEDSOCKS

Forgot all about them! And yes, they were for Grandma.

I only have one dc so any presents wrapped in FC paper are for him and if I can't remember what's inside it doesn't matter!! I did start a list of all his presents as I was wrapping them so that I could add up how much I'd spent but gave up half way through!!

beanieb · 20/12/2008 20:41

I did. Shook it about a bit and thankfully it wasn't the champagne flutes.

Also almost gave my OH's present to his older married brother because I stuck the wrong tag on the box. Could have been embarrassing.

beanieb - why? What was the present???????

JustKeepSingingCarols · 20/12/2008 21:11

yes, why??? tell us tell us tell us

chose 2 different papers for the 2 boys so i suppose i didn't HAVE to find out what they were but couldn't rest not knowing!

i have a list of what we/i spent on the boys & our families & god-daughters, bit anal but wanted to see how much we really spent, so far:

£519.86

did stick to my budget of 50 limit for each of the boys main presents, though i added 16 & 4 for their stockings (poor ds2 had the 4!).

i havent, although last night there was a hairy moment when i discovered one of dd1's presents and couldnt for the life of me remember what it was. luckily my friend had a feel and informed me it was a hairbrush.

JustKeepSingingCarols · 20/12/2008 21:29

pmsl - you couldn't tell from all the spiky bits?

nope- i had wrapped it so well you couldnt feel the spiky bits unless you pressed quite hard and didnt want to do it just in case it broke
