I have a tendency to get too much of the wrong thing and never figure out what we should have in the house. The main problem is that friends invite us around at the spur of the moment and fresh food then gets wasted. I don't even have any idea what I should cook over the week apart from the one great big roast. Help?

I just try to buy stuff with as long a shelf life as poss, and don't buy anything unless I am pretty sure I can use it one way or another. I've bought more frozen veg etc so that way it isn't wasted if I don't use it straight away.

I just keep to exactly the same stuff as any other week of the year, apart from the food and extra treats for christmas.

I have to say I have kept the fresh veg and fruit to a minimum, and buy it the day I need it, as we keep going to ther people's houses and staying at my parents, but I have veg in the freezer and tins in the cupboard.

That's where I go wrong I've got some strange phobia against Frozen food Totally irrational
I always want to make food special this time of year. Again strange. I'm going to make a pumpkin soup and a beef casserole and see how many days that will last. I don't mind freezing those two?
